FAQ

  • Do you only work with South Asian and/or LGBTQIA+ clients?
While I specialize in working with South Asian and LGBTQIA+ clients, I welcome anyone who feels we might be a good fit to reach out. Feel free to inquire about therapy services, and we can explore how best to support your journey together.
  • Am I a good candidate for telehealth services?
Telehealth can be a great option for many people, but it’s important to consider a few things before deciding if it’s right for you. You’ll need a private and secure space where you can engage in therapy without interruptions, ensuring your confidentiality and focus. Additionally, it’s helpful if you feel comfortable using a virtual platform and can stay present during your sessions, as the effectiveness of therapy relies on your active participation. Telehealth offers many benefits, including convenience and flexibility—whether you’re at home, at the office, or in your parked car. It also allows you to access any California-licensed therapist, even if they aren’t in your immediate area. It can be a valuable option if you prefer the comfort of your own space or if you have a busy schedule that makes in-person sessions challenging.
  • Do you take insurance?
I don’t bill insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide a superbill—a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies, so I recommend checking with your insurance provider to see what out-of-network benefits they offer. Here are some questions you may want to ask your insurance provider: Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits? Is therapy with a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) covered? What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed? Is there a deductible I need to meet before reimbursement begins? If so, how much is it and how much have I met so far? How many sessions per year are covered? Where and how do I submit my superbill? How long does it typically take to receive reimbursement? Please note that all insurance providers require a mental health diagnosis to approve and process your claim.
  • Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes. I believe that finances shouldn’t be a barrier to receiving meaningful support. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on need. If the standard fee is out of reach for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we can talk about your situation and explore options together.
  • What payment methods do you take?
I accept all major debit and credit cards. I also accept FSA and HSA cards. Payment is collected automatically at the time of each session.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. That way, the time can be made available to someone else who’s hoping to meet. I understand that life happens—just reach out as soon as you can so we can plan accordingly. To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment to avoid being charged the full session fee. A missed session (no-show) is also subject to the full session fee.
